During the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic Denise put her seamstress abilities to work, making masks for friends and family. As her waitlist grew, the cost of supplies increased. Abbey had the idea of opening an Etsy shop to cover the cost of the supplies. At first, Denise was hesitant, but conceded once she saw the demand for masks across the world was so high. Abbey set up the online shop and Making Midwest was born! We sold out in a matter of days and couldn't believe it.

Abbey, a true "COVID bride," got married to her husband amidst the uncertainty and Denise made embroidered masks for the entire wedding party and guest list. Embroidered mask demand continued to grow!

As mask sales diminished a bit Making Midwest reached a pivotal point of "do we close down or shift gears?" We shifted! With a goal of a more joyful product line, Abbey came to Denise with the idea of personalized embroidered swaddles. Denise was all in!

We loved getting to make blankets so much that we decided to expand our personalized products. Embroidered bibs, onesies, sweatshirts, etc. added to the shop! 

Abbey's daughter, Lennon is born! Denise had always dreamed of creating items for grandkids one day, so this made it a true full circle moment.

We changed our name! While Making Midwest will always hold a special place in our hearts, we felt that Lennon & Loom captured the essence of our family and business as a whole.
